Crime takes a bite out of cops in Pennsylvan

NEWTOWN SQUARE, Pennsylvania - A Broomall, Pennsylvania teenager who allegedly was on drugs when he bit and kicked Pennsylvania police after they attempted to place him under arrest, waived his preliminary hearing in Marple District Court.
Eric J. Bartzokas, 19, of the 2100 block of Boxwood Road, is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, theft, receiving stolen property, criminal mischief, public drunkenness, possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Pennsylvania Police were dispatched to the 2100 block of Boxwood Drive Oct. 2, for a report that Bartzokas had stolen prescription drugs and money from a family member. Bartzokas was found lying on the rear floor of a vehicle parked outside his home.
While speaking with Bartzokas, Pennsylvania police detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverages. According to Pennsylvania police, his eyes were fixed, bloodshot and glassy and his pupils were dilated and bouncing. He also had a chemical odor on his breath, which Pennsylvania police said they suspected to be PCP.
In Bartzokas' jacket, officers found a large bag with over a hundred pills, $247, copper wire mesh and two rocks of suspected crack cocaine. A suspected crack pipe was allegedly found on the back seat of the vehicle.
As Pennsylvania police attempted to place Bartzokas under arrest, he reportedly began kicking at Pennsylvania officers. He then spit and bit the policemen, and also twice kneed one Pennsylvania officer in the groin.
After attempting to place Bartzokas into the police vehicle, he jumped out and tried to tackle another officers.
After using pepper spray on Bartzokas, which had minimal affect, Pennsylvania police called for back-up units. Bartzokas continued to resisted arrest, until finally he was placed into the Pennsylvania police car and transported to headquarters.
